Verify Your Contractor

When choosing a contractor for your job, one of the most important things you can do is to verify their status with the local licensing authority.  In Washington State, that place is the Department of Labor and Industries, or "L&I."

Use L&I's simple Contractor Lookup tool to verify that your contractor is licensed and bonded, and that their insurance is up-to-date.  You can also check to see if there are any outstanding violations or lawsuits against the company.  eRead more here.
